4. Demonstrate and awareness of the transferability of graduate skills and learning to a future career / further study / training

The studies within this course and the evidence towards the GLO’s will help me progress in my teaching career, which is my current plan based on personal preference and circumstance. The process of collecting evidence for the GLO’s itself will provide usefull when examining my own practice to gather evidence for the 33 QTS standards, demanded for my forthcoming GTP (Graduate Teacher Program).

Timeline:

  • September 2011 – June 2012 GTP
  • September 2012 – July 2013 NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher)
  • September 2013 – Look for management positions within education (deputy, 2nd in charge)
  • 2015/2016 – Look at management positions with ultimate responsibility (Head of Department / Faculty)
  • 2016 onwards – Prepare skills portfolio for senior management positions…
The WBMP revealed Action Inquiry as an efective method for Continuing Professional Development that could be used outside of the secondary school context.

The Impact Review and Career Progression module allowed planning for future career progression, stemming from the degree course. This is a development of the above timeline that incorporates Career events and Education & Training together.
